Default 2006 RX330 AWD Rear Spark Plug Replacement

First, Great thanks for member alchemist's write up distribution, It will huge help for doing this job, I highly recommend read it well before you decide to go ahead.

RX330 Rear Spark Plug Change (***DIY with Pics***)

2006 RX330 195K km (125K mile)
City driving w/ routine maintenance

Here I just add more pictures for job's clarity

There is 1/3 of works for loose and tighten both bracket screws, this is the most hardest part of whole job, patient and patient and patient again!

A more closer look for both brackets and holes

Intake manifold back

Upside down

Intake manifold Bottom

Yellow arrow is PCV

Looks not too bad

Add some coolant and bleed like coolant change

Clean PCV and MAF if need!

I don't replace all gasket as they all looks fine, not crack or twisted. just make sure all seal area nice and clean.

Some thoughts after job done:

1: As alchemist thread mentioned he replaced all gaskets related, I a bit worried I should order all gasket before I did, but at last I decided to run the risk to open them without new gaskets and found they were really good shape.

2: After working 195K km/120K mile local driving with routine maintenance (never towing), all spark plugs look pretty good, I assume they can run to 250K km(150K mile) at least if you don't feel fuel mileage getting worse! maybe you can try first open the front three ones to check out their condition and then make your decision.

3: Visually inspect rear valve cover seal, if there is leak then replace it as all open here

Default Add more pictures as single thread limitation

PCV

Clean it w/ brake cleaner and shake it you should hear rattle sound, otherwise replace it.

This small one just fit and with string you wouldn't lost it

This one may save you huge time in case you drop the bolt and extremely hard to find

I manage it this way

Pack them back right!

Awesome job.

I am still at 95K miles so this is something I am going to need to do soon.

Thanks so much.

I reall appreciate the write ups by Alchemist and 5W40 Driver. I have a 2008 RX400h 105k miles. I noticed my mph/gal dropping off so I decided to change the plugs. The throttle body and rear manifold stays were almost impossible to remove so I removed the wiper mechanism and cowl. Well worth it to get access and leverage on the bolts but I would suggest buying a swivel ratchet wrench to save you hours. The gaskets and PCV looked great but since I ordered them I replaced them as I won't be doing this job again.

I had disconnected the 12v battery so after starting the engine, the VSC and engine lights came ON followed by check hybrid system. I checked the connector at the throttle body as the catch was broken, but the car started for a few seconds only and the lights came ON after a few more attempts.

I looked at these errors on the forum for 45 minutes and was about to look at the codes with an OBD scanner, but I tried amother restart and the engine ran fine without any lights or warnings. I presume the control system was in the learning process as the battery had been disconnected. So this is something to be aware of.
