Lightbulb NEW 2005 RX 2nd gen 330 350 400h Tail lights LED acrylic Tube

Hi, thought I would start a new thread to see if anyone has bought these new beautiful looking tail lights, I wanna get a set to upgrade mine, after repainting my chrome headlight housings a high gloss black, I feel the tail lights could use a refresh also.

Looks really cool.

Although I would like them in a chrome a bit better as well with a blue tint as I have a theme going...

Why is shipping so much ($106.00), for some of there headlights is like 200+?

Wow those tail lights look amazing, I'd imagine they'd really freshen up the rear end of a 2RX.

Why don't you just vinyl wrap your tail lights light blue? I did that to the headlights on my ES:

Those sure are pretty! I want to open my tail lights and black out the chrome (same thing I did with the headlights).

I've tried black tint wrapping my tail lights on a previous car. I couldn't get the rid of the ridges. Too much of pain. So I just had them sprayed. I managed to get them on my fog lights which were much flatter but then they fell off.

Yes I have been thinking about these too lexusAU. I did touch base with the (opened a new thread before being pointed at this one https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ml#post9024377). The vendor did indicate that they are DOT, SAE and E marked so technically they should be okay to swap onto the car (I should probably find out if they have documentation to completely verify it). The lights are (delivered) about $700 Australian at current rates). They also provide a 6 month warranty only so would really like to know the reliability etc of these things moving forward. I am saying up towards these.

I do like that look too. I know the rear lights can be opened as I have seen some different designs on the Russian Lexus forums.

On another note found out that these lights ARE NOT technically road legal as they are not DOT/SAE/E stamped. So due to the insurance risk that that would pose in the event of an incident, it's not worth the money to purchase these.

These tail lights can now be found on eBay which would make the whole buying process so much easier ,

I want to pull the trigger BUT I am still unsure...., need some convincing pics of them installed too, love the look of the acrylic led type tubing in them,

There are also more photos, different angles, etc on the listings,:

On the topic of blacked out OEM tail lights, I saved some pics on my iPad from a few years back,
Can't find them online today, but found them in my photos "camera roll"
I Can only upload one photo for some reason, there is a side view angle photo I have too,

They are the RX 400h tail lights painted black,
I like the look of those ISF exhaust tips

Okay here you (as I have been digging through and finding examples of what these things look like). Enjoy both the fibre tube ones (I think the Chinese ones on Alibaba are knock offs of the Crystal Eye ones). Also the black ones.

Black Out

I might even contemplate buying a 2nd hand set of RX400h ones and painting them black.

I have done some reading and most tail lights appear to be a real pain. Involves a dremel to cut between the 2 plastic pieces of the tail light. Dremel + plastic lens is a recipe for disaster if you slip up. I am investigating purchasing the black ones and leaving it at that. All I need is for them to be DOT/SAE compliant and I am good to go.

Hmmm...sounds more challenging and risky than baking the headlights. I just assumed that the tails could be opened in the same manner. Currently, I have smoked vinyl over my tails, but the blacked out reflectors would look better IMO.
