I have read that cleaning or replacing the switch that adjusts the outside rear view mirror's will help get rid of the erratic operation of these. Mine sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. How do I get the switch out of that panel? It doesn't look like the panel will pop out from the front. Any suggestions will be appreciated

I don't know that that will fix the problem...But the switch screws on from behind the panel. You have to pull off the panel to get the switch off. The panel is mostly held on with clips but there are two screws at the bottom corners that have to be removed also.

In what way are the mirrors not working?

When you flip the switch that changes from left to right the mirror will sometimes adjust with the 4 position switch and sometimes not on both mirrors. Sometimes only left or right and sometimes up and down only. Motors in mirrors seem fine. Possibly the 4 way switch has dirty contacts so I figure I will check it out and remove it. Worse comes to worse I will replace it if I can get it out of dash
