Hey I was wondering what synthetic lube people are using in their AWD transfercase and rear diff in their RX 350 ? A lot of people use Royal Purple, is it better somehow than Amsoil ? I used Royal Purple in my Ford Ranger because of the friction modifier was already in it. Do we need it in the RX's ?
The shop I'm taking it to has Amsoil, so I would have to bring in the RP.

Mobil 1 Synthetic 75W90 is used by a number of folks here at CL.

they are both good. Since the shop already has Amsoil in stock, go with that.


I've used Amsoil in my RX and 4runner.

I've been using Royal Purple, but honestly Amsoil is better. Take a look at bearing wear tests, and other studies on gear oil you will see what I mean.

I have used Amsoil on my 4runner and Landcruiser, great product.
