Default Running lights allways on

Hello!

My rx330 will turn the lights on when I change the transmission from P and not turn of even during the day.

I see some lexus with the lights on during the day on oncoming traffic, but not all. Is it normal or something is wrong?

Are you referring to the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs)? Different markets do have or do not have this feature for the same year vehicle. Perhaps they were brought in from different markets where regulations have them required or not.

BTW, there have been discussions here at CL previously on the topic on how to disable the DRLs here in the States as it is a standard feature with no way to turn off in many models to include our RX.

Thanks, I'll read that thread. It calls too much unnecessary attention, even from cops.

I'm glad my vehicle has DRLs, it makes it easier for other drivers to see my vehicle and possibly avoid a crash. I'd be glad if all vehicles had them.

since you bought it in the US, chances are they were added afterwards. you need to have them checked, sounds like a dummy wired them in and they could potentially cause more problems down the road

Are you referring to RX3302004's comment? Actually, all US sold RX330, and perhaps even 2nd Generation RX350, came equipped with standard DRLs and no way to turn them off.

I actually have my DRLs off, I simply replaced the fuse under the hood with a different part #, no wire splicing needed. Less than $5 off ebay.

I will check thos option. Please, tell me: with this, will I be able to turn that light on manually? For nights? I needs the lights, just not during the day. Other drivers keep signalling me like 'you forgot your lights on'. And the police are allways asking me why I have the lights on. You see, not many american cars on our roads.

well if people signal you to turn your lights on at night, then maybe you shouldn't mess with your drls.
