They were great for about 15k miles... even in snow (mine is AWD). They just wore out very fast.

If you are hell-bent on changing tire size to give you more sidewall, perhaps you might consider 235/60-18. The change should have minimal impact on the speedometer while giving you the other things you want. With this size if the speedometer reads 70MPH you would be doing just over 72MPH. You will have to research the tires you want to see about availability and pricing.

Not a change I would consider at this point in time for my RX330, IMO. Would rather rely on selecting a different brand and/or make of tire which better matched the vehicle and my needs.

LOL ... I AM NOT HELL BENT AT ALL ...
I am merely asking forum members who own the same vehicle as me if this has been done...
and if so what were the results.

OK... I found some Cooper CS4 Touring (60K Warranty) that look promising. What do you guys think, Great reviews and only $121!

And my tires ARE run-flats ! ... Is that why they suck so bad?

Run flat tires have reinforced side walls and more weight. Because of that they give a firm ride and that accounts for your problem.

NOW will you listen to me???

Yes, that is why your ride is so terrible. Sidewalls are extra tough. Many BMW owners have to put up with them and hate them. Since there is no spare at all, to save weight I guess, BMW uses run-flat tires on their 3 series -- at a minimum. Any quality non-run-flat tire will give you a better ride than these.

BTW, do you still have a spare tire on your RX? Wondering if the previous owner ditched it or if they just did not understand what they were putting on the vehicle.

As for Cooper CS4 tires, lexus114 here at CL runs them on his RX. Believe he is happy with them.

It's all relative. Drive our Nissan Rogue for a bit and then get back in your RX. I'm sure your tires are at least partially to blame as well.

Well, sh_t. Sorry, and thanks guys... Sticking with a 235/55!

If I would have brought this up from the get go, I would have known and replaced them sooner

There is however a plus to all this, at 86k, my wife is gonna love her car all over again!

Cooper's or Nitto's. THAT is (now) the question.

And which Nitto if you happen to go that route. I noted several available in our size to include the NT 420S, CROSSTEK CUV and the Motivo, amongst others.

I have 225/60-18 Firestone Winterforce on my RX. Didnt really notice any difference. I dont think such a small diamteter difference would make any significant difference.

AS for for summer tires I have Bridgestone Alenza H/L. Such a good tire. 600 Tread wear and super smooth riding. Love them.

The Alenza's are still an option too. They just seem a lil over priced. I am in Savannah GA, so snow isnt a factor.
I just want a good smooth, quiet wet weather tire.

OMG you just dont know! It's rough and loud. I just bought a new 2013 Tundra and my wife cant get over how smooth it is.
