No Bluetooth Phone Sound

Just bought a 2008 rx400h and paired my Samsung Galaxy 3 with it. It appears that I am making calls but (to paraphrase Sgt. Schultz) I hear nothing. No ringing, no one on the other end, nothing. Help!

This may seem obvious but did u check the volume on your phone and the car?

Just in case - the speaker phone voulme is on the nav screen...
