Text Messages - Paired Phone - 2007 RX 350
Is there any way, to anyone's knowledge, to have text messages read aloud using an Android phone paired with the RX 350? I can receive incoming calls, and make outgoing calls, but I have no idea about texting. I'm pretty new to using smart phones, just got one a couple months ago (well, had one before, but never used texting - had it disabled).
Thanks for any info.
The phone I'm using is Motorola Defy XT, and somewhere around Feb/March next year, I think I'll be buying a Moto X in case any of that makes a difference.
The Defy XT is using Android Gingerbread, and Moto X will be running either Jellybean or maybe KitKat by then, not sure.

Yeah, thanks. I've thought about trying an app to see, but I'm not sure an app would then send the texts over the car system. Guess only way to be sure is to test it out myself, hu?
Thanks for the idea.

Looks cool
Thanks for the reference link. That looks cool, and if did that, it'd do anything the phone can do. From a quick search I did in the forums here, it sounds like that disables the back-up camera, and I don't really want to lose that nor have to do a workaround. well, not really looking to spend a fortune on replacing everything right now either. But it is interesting for sure.
It's amazing all the different things you can do with these vehicles.

Looks like Moto X will do what I want
At a quick glance, from a Google search, I saw where the Moto X did the same thing you mentioned about the Nokia, stevepen. Thanks for mentioning that, though, b/c I just didn't think about it. I'll just wait until I pull the trigger on the Moto X. It should be sometime in the near future anyway.

Yep, just verified it. It's here:

I guess that it'd just not use the car's bluetooth. I think that's what I was originally thinking, actually. It'd be nice to have it come through like an incoming call. Guess I'm thinking of Iron Man's computer. Just a tiny bit more than a phone for sure.
