2008 RX400h - K/W
Hi is it normal for the pin to be above the blue area while the car is at a stop, let's just say im at the red light. (see picture below for reference to what I am trying to convey) After my IPM replacement service due to a recall less than a week ago, I noticed that the hybrid engine doesn't pop in as often as before. Before the replacement, the hybrid engine would be on even when I'm driving at 20-25 miles per hour on a busy residential street. However, after the replacement of the IPM, the gas engine pops in at 20-25 mph causing my car to consume more gas. Gas mileage isn't as efficient after the IPM replacement. Help. Is everyone having the same issue or the Lexus Diagnostic Repair specialist didn't do a good job? Let me know, thanks.

Your case is normal if the ICE isn't running at a stop. I don't recall what it's like if the ICE is running but I would expect it to be slightly above the point in your photo since the ICE would be generating electricity.
The position of the needle at a stop isn't relevant to diagnosing the issue you're concerned with. The symptoms sound like the symptoms that the ISC reset is recommended for but if an ISC reset was required with an IPM replacement it seems like they should have done so. Have you contacted them about this?
