Default Front control arm bush

Hi,

Anyone has the part numbers for the OEM rear bushes of the front control arm/wishbone?

Is it cheaper to buy a whole new wishbone with bushes inserted compare to the labour of removing the olf one and press it back using hydraulic press?

Thanks

I just ordered brand new ones from rockauto.com. They're $60 each with a brand new ball joint bolted to them. For $120 you can't go wrong.

An RX is made for comfort. Poly bushings are going to make the ride worse.

anyone have a clue if the RX330 US version arm and bushing fit the Euro/World RX300. Both are second generation RX, but the euro/world has the 1MZ engine.

Spoke to a Lexus dealer (I am based in the UK), the part numbers are 48068-48020 & 48069-48020.

The OEM Toyota part is expensive, nearly £200 per arm. They dont sell the bush separately, which is what I want to replace. After market part can be as low as £60 per arm, a huge different.

Dont know what to do now. Might be cheaper if I ship some in from the States.

Not sure if there are now updated part numbers or if there is a difference. They come up at Sewell Lexus of Dallas as 480690E010 and 480680E020.

With international shipping approaching $US300 from that source you might be best looking and purchasing local. What brand aftermarket parts are available to you? As an example:

Thanks for the links. Here in the UK we only have RX300, not RX330, not sure if that would make a different. Only Lexus dealer can tell I suppose. m

I once imported a rear wheel bearing from States and with postage it is cheaper than buying locally. But there is a risk, if the parts don't fit then I wont be able to send them back. Or I will but it will cost a fortune.

I read on other forum that the RX control arm and the Camry control arm are interchangeable BUT this is for the first generation RX, nobody say anything about the 2nd generation yet.

Has the day of changing the bush only gone now? I used to be able to change these bush without changing the whole arm on my other car. The Lexus dealer told me that they don't do the bush separately...

If looking at Toyota parts I might think the UK RAV4 might be a better point of reference though that is just a guess.

No, bushings are still available. You just need to spend more time looking for them or perhaps you may not like the sources they are available. There is also the case of what may not be available in the UK may be available elsewhere in the Eurozone. Perhaps you can contact these folks to ask about the viability of their product.

Both brands are international. Dorman is more well known though Febest does have an office here in FL. Of the two I would go with Dorman.
