Default Different seats in RX330?

Hello!

I am a new owner of an RX330 and I seem to have made a mistake: my short test drives with the car led me to believe this car had seats that would be fine for me, as far as support, but they are not. I am 6'4 and the seats are just too short. My shoulder blades are above where the top of the seat is and the headrest maximum height is at the base of my skull. Not comfortable at all.

My question is, has anyone had experience adding new seats to the RX? I understand there are safety concerns adding a new seat as well as matching it.

Changing seats is really not a good option. I looked through my Lexus Service Manual and you would be shocked at the amount of electronics that are associated with the Lexus OEM seats. For example: The front seats are equipped with electric adjuster slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, lumbar motors and heated seats. All of this and more is routed though the ECU. Perhaps you should sell the vehicle and buy a model that will seat you comfortably.

Wow, that definitely seems way more complicated, and expensive, than I thought it would be. Thanks for your input! Guess they'll just have to grow on me.

Many, many more sensors and computers these days. For example, there needs to be a sensor to know the position of your seats and if they are occupied in case of a crash where the airbags need to be deployed. If you are closer to the steering wheel the airbag may need to deploy quicker but has to be careful of not deploying with too much force.
