Please help find TSB!
Hi Lexus owners,
I'm having major cam gear issues with my 2008 RAV4 3.5L V6. I know, I know. You're asking what the hell is this guy doing in a Lexus forum. Well, it just so happens that my RAV4 shares the same V6 engine with the Lexus RX350. It is the 2GR-FE engine. Toyota has not issued any TSBs associated with cam gear rattle noise, but I believe that Lexus does have such a TSB out there. Can one of you Lexus guys give a Toyota guy a helping hand and link the proper TSB for this in PDF? Much appreciated.

I have all the TSBs available for my model, and none are issued for this cam gear problem. This is why I'm asking for Lexus TSBs. Thanks though. Cheers.

Would this not be covered under the power train warranty. The Lexus RX 350 is covered at 72 months or 70K miles. Have you checked with the service manager at Toyota?

My powertrain warranty was only covered for 60 months. It is not an issue of whether, or not, the part is covered under warranty. The issue is with the company knowing of the defect, and not willing to cover the costs associated with repairing the vehicle to the condition that it should have originally been in when sold to me. The courts view a TSB as an admission of a defect by the manufacturer. If you take legal action, you will always win.
