Default Lexus Dealership matches prices on tires

I took my RX330 to the Lexus dealership today for a wash and one of the service managers came out and told me that my tire threads are low and need newer tires. I told that I'll get it at discount tires or Sams since the dealership prices are high. He said that "we match prices".

Anyone else had that experience?

I received a full price match on Michelins from Seattle Lexus. They matched Costco prices. I had to bring in a written price quote from Costco. Only disappointment is I understood this would also include free tire rotations during service calls, but I found out yesterday that they do not honor this part of the 'match'.

That's great Steve!

The price for mine came about $200 cheaper than Lexus for two tires. Not bad at-all....

I wonder if Lexus would match battery price/etc from Sams, Costco, etc..

The Lex dealer will not be able to match the free lifetime balancing and rotation, maybe even the Hazard warranty. Due diligence required when price matching.

Good luck.

You're right..

Discount tires is the best, in my opinion.. They do price match, free lifetime balancing and rotation.

Correct. When comparing and asking for price matches, make sure you understand EXACTLY what is being priced and matched. They may only match the price on the tires, but not on installation and may not match extra warranty services. In the end, get everything in writing so they do not try to change the rules on you later.

Do Lexus matches prices of other dealerships (Toyota) or shops (Autozone, Pep boyz, etc)?
