I had an additional alarm put on my Rx350.
I had the Viper remote start and 2 way pager installed. So if the alarm goes off, it will notify the Viper remote of an intruder or the shock sensor keeps going off if a big truck rolls by the vehicle.
I had mine for over a year and the only issue I have is that sometimes the factory remote takes control over the aftermarket remote. Meaning if I don't lock the vehicle with the Viper remote, the factory remote and Viper remote will automatically lock the vehicle, but the Viper remote won't be able to unlock the car, only the factory remote will unlock the vehicle.

I have a viper smart start system. This allows me to start lock unlock etc via phone app.
But Rainbird is correct, your vehicle does have an immobilizer. If you lock your car with fob while your in it, and you open the door the factory alarm will go off.
So I guess it depends on exactly what your looking for.
