Hi Guys,

I want to use ATE Super Blue Dot 4 brake fluid to do a complete brake fluid flush on my 2009 RX 350 . My question is it okay to use a Dot 4 instead of Dot 3 per the manufacture ?. Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can use DOT 4 without issue. Though, you will not really see any benefit as your RX is not going to see any significant track time to generate the heat this is designed to handle. A stock quality synthetic DOT 3 or DOT 3/4 at a fraction of the price will suffice.

The interval is 24 months or 30K miles. Personally, I deal with this when I am replacing pads whenever that is necessary.

BTW, brake fluids are hygroscopic -- meaning it absorbs water. You can purchase a tester or test strips to check for moisture levels. However, unless you have a need to do this on a regular basis with a number of vehicles it would be perhaps more cost efficient to ask a service shop to check it for you.

Sure, but I have always been suspicious of any company that cannot spell Infiniti correct.

How would you know that your system is bubble-free? Just go with the "that should do it" approach?

You can see the old fluid transition into the new fluid come out into the drain tube with no bubbles. I have them on 3 vehicles with no problems whatsoever. When you see the new clean fluid, just close the bleeder screw and you are done!

Yes, it looks bad when something is misspelled, but if you do a little research many have used these with no problems.
