Default Chrome Strips

Has anyone got a picture of a Lexus RX330/350/400h with the following chrome strips installed

I would prefer if this was a silver car so I could see what they look like. Unfortunately the original molding on my car has many marks on it due to idiots at the train station where I park, occasionally opening their car doors against them. Hence they are starting to look a bit worn and I want to make a decision about respraying them or just covering them up.

Respray. I'm not a fan but maybe you are. Only like the lower door moldings.

I like the moldings of the 3rd Gen Rx and was thinking about doing the same thing on the 2nd Gen Rx except for the individual windows on the back. I think that looks gaudy and tacky.

This is the first I'm seeing chrome on side molding. Hmmmm, the jury is still out on this one in my mind.

I can completely understand where you're coming from in terms of parking lots scratches. Just last night I was thinking it's probably better to park in the back where no one likes to park at and walk all the way cross the mall to get to the store than to park up front where people are willing to drive reckless to get into a parking spot and not think twice about the vehicles next to it.

I personally feel it needs to extend around the car, than just be only in the centre. I'm still not sure if I like the look or not. It works with a black car, but with a silver (or other coloured car), not entirely sure.

I too have been looking at putting some chrome side strips on my Granite Grey RX350. It just looks rather bland from the side with no chrome aside from the door handles.

The ones around the window would be good, except for the B and C pillars, which look tacky (although the Porsche Cayenne has them too...and also looks tacky!)

I'd be wary of replacing the side strips with the chrome, unless you can be sure the chrome is of a good, smooth standard that matches the car.
