86100-0W160 Surely there must be one somewhere...
Greetings fellow forum members. Our family is very happy to have recently joined the Lexus family with purchase of a 2006 RX 330 w/ navigation. I convinced momma to purchase it from some family friends because I know it has been well taken care-of and currently has only 42k miles due to a short commute!! I expect this thing to be a tank and last quite awhile. Pics attached.
ANYWAY... I was planning to install the factory XM add-on for Xmas, as satellite radio is the major thing she misses from her dreaded Caddy STS.
The XM install needs two parts: the tuner (86180-0W032) and the fit kit (86100-0W160). Got the tuner no problem. BUT come to find out... the online stores that still have the fit kit listed in stock at $80+/- processed my credit card only to put my order on hold afterwards upon realizing they can't get it anymore.
Anyone have a clever way of still getting their hands on one of these fit kits before I give in, sell my tuner, and go the VAIStech route? I have a connection at the dealership and parts are cheaper now, so this is why I preferred OEM.

Are you sure you want to go the OEM way? Here is the installation manual in case you find the harness. http://lexus.sewellparts.com/pdf/861000W160.pdf
Basically you have to take apart half of the car...

Alright I guess VaisTech it shall be.
My main concern was that aftermarket items often come with some sort of sound interference and are very rarely integrated as well as factory. We'd also like to add an iPod/aux plug someday soon. Not sure which brand, but we are hoping to control the iPod using the vehicle controls AND from the device itself (no "accessory attached" mode).
Most people seem very satisfied with the VaisTech satellite units, and from my understanding, the VaisTech iPod and XM products can both be installed and plugged right in a row, but I had a hard time believing there are no drawbacks to this setup, and I believe the unit locks out the iPod controls.
Maybe I can do VAIS for XM and another product (e.g. USA Spec) for iPod/aux
