Default Replacement HID Headlight - What is the best non-Lexus?

After many polishes the lenses on my '04 330 are not staying clear and I decided to buy new.

This is what I purchased.

The beam pattern is TERRIBLE. I am even tempted to remove the old HID housing and try and fit it into the new units it is that bad.

There are other differences (Lexus vs this stuff) I can go into that show why these units are low in price.

Are there any better aftermarket OEM non Lexus (only because of the price) on the market?

The only other option is to buy original Lexus part used from eBay but they do run about $350 a piece.

hey you tried the 3M headlight cleaner where you use a household drill? it did wonders for my car, when polishes only lasted a week or two. It's been a year, and it still looks good.

The problem with aftermarket "projector" oem style lights are that the glass of the projector lense is pure crap. If it were me, and you have the factory projectors would be to bake open the new ones and put the factory setup in them. The difference is night and day when it comes to the glass. Unfortunately, there isn't a quick fix for your problem.

Household drill? I have a Porter Cable Random Orbit Sander.

The lenses are badly pitted from gravel damage.

Keep looking for good used EOM. I purchased a pair from a Toyota Mechanic ( didn't really get the reason why he had them) on Kijiji for 150.00 for the pair. I snapped them up in a heartbeat. They were the HID AF moveable ones which i have ( Canadian Model) . All the bulbs were still there. The plastic covers were mint. They are stored away waiting for the day when
1) I start getting moisture in my lights
2) If i need parts like the computer in the light stops working.( that's a 600.00 sting)
If I never need them or get rid of the SUV I can always sell them. Lexus made a ton of RX330's so the demand will be there for years to come. So, I would make do with what you have and start hunting for good used replacements on E-bay or Kijiji or whatever buy/sell you have in your area. Good luck with it. jamie

No they don't. You can find a PAIR of the 'hybrid blue' headlights for that price. Search query needs to be 'used' in the selection option.

Otherwise, new ones, sure are 350$/side from a dealership that uses ebay to sell online...

Just have to know how to use the internet....

Could you please advise us, the uninitiated in using the internet, where would you find a PAIR for $350?
This is what I searched on ebay and all results confirm my initial statement

You might be able to find some low priced OEM lights but without any caps, bulbs or ballast, so the final price will be definitely higher.

OP: you can try a WTB post in the classifieds section and see if anyone responds

You can also check out the Parts recycling places to see if they have any.

Good luck and keep us posted

Default Sealing headlight after polishing??

Sorry, old thread here, but what exactly do you mean by sealing the headlight after polishing the lens?
I am in the process of sealing the top section with clear silicone (as discussed on this forum) where the clear plastic meets the black plastic, as I have a moisture issue. I figured that while I had the light out, I would go ahead and restore the headlight surface with a Mother's product, or whatever I used last time.
Please tell me if there is another sealing step that I should take before I put this all back together.

Thanks
