Review of Pirelli Scorpion Verde
#16
I just bought a set of the Scorpion Verde Plus on my 07 Rx400h and I think they're great so far. I'm wondering if the noise some people are complaining about is a regional issue due to the groove-style in the roads in which they drive and live. The Verdes are nice and quiet for my wife's 45 mile commute and are plenty comfy for her too. Her mileage has improved from 25.5 to 27.7 mpg, but her old tires were oversized (255/55/18 compared to the now corrected 235/55/18), so I think the improvement was due the speedometer correction and thinner thread contact. I also had a alignment done and timing belt/water pump change too, so it could be a combination of any of those things.
EDIT: I also wanted to point out that I bought the tires at America's Tire/tires.com during their 4th of July sale. $30 in instant savings plus $165 in rebates.

I just put the Scorpion Verde Plus on my '05 RX 330. So far, they are better than the ones I had. I had Dicount tire match the price of tirerack.com which was $200 less than what they wanted and only $80 more than tirerack, but I get the free rotation/fix.... So far I am satisfied.

I thought I'd give an update 2 years and 40K miles later. The tires have been balance and rotated every 6-8K miles and look to be wearing evenly, though there's a tad bit of cupping (it's been 2 years and 40K miles since the last wheel alignment). They are currently at 5/32nd of an inch all around and I project that I can get another 8-10K miles before I need to replace them. What surprises me is that I've yet to notice any significant degradation in performance or comfort over the last 40K miles. My guess is that they'll go downhill soon, but so far the braking and handling seem to be just as good as when they were new, though they are a tad noisier at speeds over 50mph.
I'd have to guess that 50% of the mileage is in slow and go freeway commuter traffic, 20% freeway speeds, and 30% suburban driving.
I will likely replace these tires with another set of Scorpion Verdes.

Dealer is willing to put new tires on my CPO RX 350 before I take delivery. I have the Pirelli Scorpion Verde's on my wife's 2010 Acura MDX and they are AWESOME! We had a bunch of snow this winter in Portland, OR and they have been incredible. Based on my experience with these tires over the last 1.5 years I would definitely purchase them again. The only thing I wonder is if they would be significantly different on the RX 350 vs the MDX w/ SH-AWD.
