Get the proper fluids yourself and bring them to your mechanic. Will be probably around $200-$300 plus the cost of the fluid.

I have one for my 07 350 if you are interested and it is the same fit. Would think it was the same but I don't know for sure.

I use mine often, but it just depends on your needs. They are really pricey (about 500? from Lexus for a new one), so if you don't think you are going to use it very often, don't waste your money. I would try finding one in salvage if you can.

Also, once you have a relationship with your local Lexus dealer, I would try to see if they could possibly pull one out of a high mileage trade that they are going to send to auction and give or sell it to you (some Lexus dealers are willing to go the extra mile for happy customers).

Is this something you guys use often?
The cover is a security item, covers the contents of your trunk. Also keeps the AC in the cabin. And may add insulation on rear deck noise (maybe).

Try Fleabay for a used one. Be careful in getting the right one. 04 to 09 will have the identical cover, also there are 2 colors, beige and gray.

Enjoy your RX. Post pics when you can.

I believe the OP is talking about this http://www.google.com/imgres?start=1...17,s:146,i:217 - the doohickey laying on the floor of the cargo compartment in this photo that you slide out to cover your cargo compartment. I use mine every day and I also pull it out (quite easy - maybe 10 seconds) when we need the space. Ebay, craigslist, post a want ad here?

Edit: Found a better picture:

On my 2007, if you pull open the floor storage area, there is a spot to lay the cover in and close it up, so you don't have to take it out of the vehicle.

I've got one and removed it the first couple of days. I put the back seat down once in a while and need all the space.

Besides the color, there are two different type of covers...one for a Japanese made RX and one for a USA/Canadian made RX. The Japanese RX's have slightly larger diameter rear seat headrest posts so a USA/Canadian made cover won't clip in and I'm thinking the opposite (USA/Canadian RX w/Japanese made cover) will probably come loose.

I have a excellent condition GREY USA/Canadian one available for sale in Los Angeles if anyone is interested...prefer FTF as it's large and heavy....

We use our cover for security. Lotta baby gear and its best to not giving thieves a look at what's there. Love how it automatically opens up when the lift gate opens.

Or try fleabay, or even Mazon.
