Help! Used 2004 Rx330 value??
Hey everyone,
So i will be buying my sister's 2004 rx330 soon (upgrading from my 1999 rx300). Her car is a 2004 with 73k miles, black w/ tan int., the 5 spoke 18" lexus wheels, pretty much every option but navi. in good condition as well. what do you guys think is a fair price for me to pay? I know she will give me a decent deal, but just wondering what you guys think its worth and how much you think they will offer her on a trade in? She is probably buying a new Q5. Thanks so much!

Go on to cars.com and punch in 04 RXs and see how much they go for at the dealer and with a private party. You have an advantage of buying the "known quantity". Knowing history of the car is a big plus! The car may by worth $12-14k, depending on condition.
Also, you can go to kbb.com and find out the trade-in value. Just give her $500 over the trade in and it may be worth it for her as well.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you for your replies, The vehicle has heated leather, sunroof, roof rack, 6 cd changer, power lift gate, and yes it helps knowing the history of the vehicle and that is was well maintained. Hopefully she will be going to the dealership sometime this week and getting a trade in value and we can go from there. I will keep you posted!

Pole Position
I would pay about 15k for an 04 RX in excellent condition from a Lexus dealer. Dealer list will probably be around 18k or so, so 15-16k is a fair deal FROM A LEXUS DEALER. But since you are buying it from your sister, I would suggest 13-14k would be fair deal.

by the way, all the things you've listed are standard on any RX. It's like saying, WOW, look at this deal, it comes with a steering wheel and 4 tires!
The extras on RXs are: xenon headlights, rear DVD system, Mark Levinson stereo/backup camera/navi and bluetooth, towing package. If the car has those, you might expect to pay more (1-2 grand extra).
Good luck!

Okay so I have an update, her new car is arriving at the dealer in 2 weeks maximum (possibly sooner). We agreed on a price of $12,000, which I think is fair for both of us. I will keep you guys posted and let me know what you think! Thanks!

Very excited to say that I got the car yesterday! Love it so far and will upload pictures soon. Only thing I wish it had was navigation but still overall its a very nice upgrade from the 99 rx300

Congrats and welcome to CL, lexkidd. You've come to the right place. There's lots of great people in this forum and tons of information. Heck, I learn something new every once in a while and I'm on my third RX in 14 years. Enjoy your '04! It was a great year
