RX 400h no sounds issue
Hi all,
I’m new to this club and have run into a problem with my 2007 Lexus RX400h. The stereo system works (as in I can change the volume, radio stations, etc.) but there is no sound.
I ran the diagnostic and it said check amp
Im assuming it is an amp problem but is there something else I should look into? If someone has some trouble shoot steps that would be great!
also, do all 2007 models of the Rx have the same amplifier, or is it dependent on what model of RX.

All the cars have an amplifier, but there are 2 different radio systems so there are 2 different amplifiers. There is the standard radio system (made by Panasonic if it matters) and a premium radio system made by Mark Levinson. If you have the premium radio, you will see the name Mark Levinson on it.

hi, i have the same issue with RX400h 2005 and Mark Levinson amplifier.
Radio/CD/Tape is working but without sound. Phone over Bluetooth is working with sound - i guess its because the front left speaker is not connected to the amplifier.
A day after it broke the was sound for 5 to 20 seconds on engine start, but not anymore.
I was able to reach the amp - not easy - behind the rear seat. On engine start i can see the amp fan moving for a second or two and then it stops immediately. Plugging out the connector to the speakers didn't changed anything. I think the problem is in the amplifier. Or maybe a cable is broken from the radio to the amp, so that it goes off to protect it self?
Any help will be appreciated

There are repair services for the amplifier, but they are pretty expensive. Maybe you can find a used one. But it must be the EXACT same one, not one that looks to be the same. You should see the part # on a blue tag on the amplifier. The part # is 86280-0E021 or 86280-0E020,

Thanks for your help Dennis,
i tried that out - seems the fan is ok.
Nice tip with the part number. I really first thought about buying one that look like mine, and is not that expensive. But i still hope to find someone who can repair it.
Thanks

I found a link to a place in New York. He charges $475. You have to remove the amplifier from the car and ship it to him.
