After you program the button, go to the garage door opener (actual unit on the ceiling) and click "Learn Remote" (its a button, usually red on the back with all the other adjustments) and then go click and hold your new programmed button in your lexus. The light should blink on off on off, that is to tell you that you successfully programmed it. Make sure nothing is in the way as it may close.

It will probably work, and you probably don't even have to hit program on the back of the actual garage unit as I doubt they use a rolling code system seeing as though they probably have a TON of openers out there. Just try programming it to your car and see if it works.

I have a Craftsman opener as well. Put a new one in about 3-4 years ago. Followed the instructions in the Owner's Manual and it worked first time. Try, try... try, again.

Read the RX manual but from memory you have to hold the outside buttons (together) down for about 5 seconds.
tips:
as suggested: clear our any programmed information.
Teach RX the send frequency and code by driving out of range. [garge-door-opener ---> RX]
Drive either inside the garage or park outside of the garage when teaching the opener to register the rolling code [RX ----> opener]

After I had cleared my old codes out of my car (described above) and pushed the learning button on the actual garage door opener, I went back to the car and pushed the No. 1 opener button 3 times holding it for 2 seconds each time. It worked the very first time. That was for a rolling code opener.....
