2007 RX350 winter rims - 18" or 17"
My RX came with factory upgraded 18" rims. I am looking at adding another set of rims for winter tires - do I need to go 18" or can I knock it down to the standard 17" rims?
I am wondering if the speedometer or something else might not like the rim size change?

The base tire size was 225/65-17. You can purchase a set of appropriate 17" wheels and tires for use in winter without need for any other adjustments.

This is what I'm thinking of doing. The RX we just bought has the 225/65 17s. I'd like to go to the 18s, but the 17s only have 22K miles on them. So I'm thinking of keeping them on till next winter then putting snow tires on the 17s and buying new 18 rims and tires in the spring.

Shame that TireRack does not carry a 17" steel wheel for the RX. Even a one year production run I think would sell out. Especially useful and the appropriate size for those who sometimes even need to breakout the snow chains.
Still, 6+" here in PA at the cabin last night and no problems getting around in my FWD RX330 with well worn Alenza tires.
