Question Kinda stupid question

I know, maybe it is stupid question.

When i'm using heater in my rx330 heat coming from engine or there is special separate heaters working separate from engine? So, simply when i'm using my climate control for heating, i'm burning extra gas?

No, the heater uses engine heat, no separate device.

By changing the ammount of cold air through the heater. When you want it hot, no cold air comes in, otherwise it's a mixture of hot/cod air.

Thank you, guys!

I asked this question because i'm driving a lot to mountains, and as i know it is not good to drive up to hill with AC on, because it is load to engine plus gas. Now weather is cold and its nice to know that heater have nothing to do with engine itself plus no gas extra burning.

You dont need to worry about that. The RX has two variable speed fans that will take care of any extra heat. And just watch your temp gauge, you`ll see what I mean.
