Anyone have their RX400h / 300 brake callipers painted?
I have been trying to find some pictures on google for painted RX400h brake callipers for inspiration but I just cant seem to find any. Can someone please post some pictures of the rear and front callipers painted with the Lexus stickers/ decals applied?

GS forum has quite a few with the sticker as an example. I got my inspiration from there.
IMHO it is all subjective and a major factor is the color of the vehicle.
I did wire scrub, the base color (2 coats), sticker, clear-coat (3 times). It has held-up for 7years now.
If you are willing to part with more money and vehicle out of service, powder coating is the way to go.
Things to watch-out for:
Use only high-temp paint.
For any paint work, prep is the key.
Thin multiple layers of paint are better than thick paint.
Patience is the key to a good paint job.
Visibility is limited so save yourself lot of time by not painting what would be impossible to see.
Brake fluid can mess-up the paint. Any servicing has to be done with care.

Low Metal Porosity = Poor Heat Dissipation
Thought about it (looks kewl) but be aware painted metal looses most of it's heat dissipation ability, for what I would suppose creates a hotter running brake system?
Soda blasting would make it look new again for a while?

Here is an existing thread that discusses this topic with pictures of Lexus models in general:

Thanks for your replies. I was specifically after pictures on the RX400h calipers painted. I can see a front one painted, any pictures of the rear ones please?
The search is useless, doesnt come up with any good results. All generic calipers, nother for the 300 or 400.

Only aftermarket painted calipers your gonna find most likely are when buying a big break kit. They run in the $2K range and up. Better to go do it yourself. It's easy but you have to be ready to spend the time.

So here is Brake Caliper paint kit, a DIY, the end result depends on how you prep the surface for paint

Thanks for posting pics. I am particularly interested in seeing how anyone managed to paint the rear calipers. There isnt much to paint, but I would still like to see.
BTW, I am not going to stop there. I want to get some FAT tyres on my next change. Is it possible to use the same rims and get wider tyres fitted? How wide can I go. Anyone have any experience with this?
