Just out of curiousity, how did you come up with the sticky trap idea ahem ahem lol Great news that you caught it, must be a huge relief. I just noticed someone else is having this problem too on their 400h

I wonder if he knew that gun play would become your favored problem resolution method, on the other hand I would imagine you are treated with the utmost respect in your household.

As stated by everyone else I liked the ending. That sucka sound like it was a rat and not a mouse. Mickey may have not approved of your method but from me you get 2
Did the critter just played with the toilet paper in the glove box or did he leave a trail? Did you hose down the engine or under carriage because you don't want that rat poo smell when it comes winter time when you have to turn the heater on.

my wife's toyota avalon had a mouse once. She cleaned out all the food and set a trap. She got it, and none came back.
Don't put any food in your car!
It also probably says you have mice where you park it at night. Maybe a few traps or mice poison. You can put a plastic milk carton crate over the traps to keep the neighborhood cat away.

Does anyone know how mice can enter a 1990 LS400. My mouse has been peeing on my owner's manual in the glovebox and eating the rear speaker decking cloth below the rear window. Isn't tempted by Victor mice traps. Will try the sticky pad type, but want to especially find out where they are getting into the car in the first place.

From CSI (love that show):
"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Lab Rats (#7.20)" (2007)
Gil Grissom: Did you know that rodents have skeletons with flexible joints?
Dr. Al Robbins: No.
Gil Grissom: If they can get their head through something, the rest of their body can contort to fit. They can crawl into spaces as small as a quarter.
Dr. Al Robbins: Lousy varmints.

A quarter is big. Mice can get through a hole that is smaller than a dime. Unfortunately for autos, I don't think there's much you can do to prevent them from climbing into the vehicle. With a running start they can really jump high. I've seen mice jump from the rail of a train on to the platform.
