Question My lexus RX330 2005 "Air Circulating" light is always on when the engine is on???

Is it normal that my "Air Circulating" button light is always come on and stay on after i started the engine? I have to manually push it to remove the light so i can just have the "outside air" mode...the light will come back on again when i restarted the engine..Is that normal or is that unusuall. the vehicle is a 2005 rx 330.

If I recall correctly, whatever mode you have it in when you turn the engine off, then when restarting, it stays in the mode you left it in... Recirculate on engine cut off, then recirculate on start. Fresh air mode on engine cut off, fresh air mode on start up.

I noticed this in the US model loaners here in my local dealer. Default is recirc even if I turn to fresh before killing the engine. I'm pretty sure I saw a thread here somewhere about this so try searching a few keywords.

Yes, many such topics for this range of vehicles has already been discussed. One need only use the search abilities for the forums.

etc.

Just push the auto button. Then it will come on recirc. when warm inside, and switch to fresh automatically.

That may also run the A/C, when all the driver wants is some fresh air. Of course, you can hit auto, then turn the A/C off, then switch to fresh, but it would be easier in that case to just manually switch from recirc to fresh and avoid all those additional steps.

There is a dealer selectable option

see my post here at the very bottom of the TSB list that says "Dealer selectable options"

http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...howtopic=58929

that says "When climate control is turned on, the user must manually select the desired mode, recirculation or fresh air mode."

I 'think' if you read that another way, it means that the system will stay in whatever mode you had it in when the vehicle/climate control was shut off.

thanks everyone for your feedback...it's actually not an issue at all..it's just thats how it was set...It was set to run on "auto" that is why it keep going on by itself when we start the engine...we let the dealer switch it back to "manual" so it should be fine now..hopefully..and i found out they scrape my side view mirror paint ...dang it, they should have been more careful! oh well.
