You might get halogen headlights instead of HID. Some 08's have tape players. None on 09's. Most if not all 09's have 6 spoke wheels.

My 2009 has a tape player. I also have 10-spoke Pebble Beach edition wheels.

We have an '09 RX with 7-spoke alloy wheels and a tape player. Build date was 11/08.

I believe they are mechanically identical. Some small accessory items may be different, but there was really no change: the '09 (which I have) was an intermediary model, waiting on the '10 which was different. The 400h didn't even have an official '09 year, jumping from '08 to '10.

Did not know that about the cassette player. And of course you have the PB wheels if your car is PB edition. Wtf..

My bad. I meant 7 spokes. I don't think there are 6 spokes.

Honestly, Did Lexus think a tape player was appropriate for a vehicle built in '08.

I would imagine it has more to do with switching costs than appropriateness for the market. I believe the SC430 went through 2009 with a tape player also. When we were looking for an RX I viewed and drove quite a few of 2008 and 2009 models. I can't honestly say there was any significant difference that would have made me favor one over the other. I just wanted a low mileage CPO unit in a particular color and interior with certain equipment and in my case an '09 happened to suit. I am pretty sure they all had tape players but it's moot since I haven't owned any tapes for over 10 years. Point taken though.

My '09 does not have a tape player, but it has the six-CD changer.
