someone help!!!

there is this really annoying rattle coming from the drivers side door / foot well area..! its driving me crazy!!!

ive checked everywhere i can't find the source for the rattle.....i even cut the plastic piece off from the underbody as mentioned in other posts..

does anyone have a clue where this rattle is from??

Things to check

(1) Have you checked for any loose panels underneath the dash?
(2) Have you checked to see if the noise is coming from the actual footwell / driver's door area?
(3) Check if the door pockets are not making the noise (try and drive with it pulled out).
(4) Check the centre console in case it has something that has fallen down the front of it.

Was there a recall on kick panel hold down? I vaguely remember reading about it ... could have been another model.

thanks for the advice..
have checked for loose panel under the dash...none found/
Have foamed the door pocket contact points, thats not the problem it seems...sounds solid when i knock it..
checked the centre console...nothing of note down in the gap there either..

suraj, the kick panel is the vertical plastic panel where your foot rest is on the driver side.

kitiz....do you know what can be done if the rattle is coming from the kick panel?

what is the recall regarding this panel?

suraj, I had speakers where the kick panels are so I had a different kind of rattle going on, a desireable one I never heard of any recall on the kick panels. Maybe someone else can provide more info or a link. Sorry. I hope you find the cause for sanity's sake.

i figured it out!!! sanity prevails!!!

the door trim above the window around the b pillar. Its a piece of trim that runs the whole width of the door along the seal...

i pulled it off, put some grease inside it and replaced it, and now the car is tomb quiet!!!!!

i can post pics if anyone is interested and experiencing the same rattle..

oh bollocks!

so that rattle came back....BUT i finally figured out where it was coming from!!!!!!!

its coming from the plastic inner molding on the door that covers the screw holding the wing mirrors...

there was a loose clip for the mold panel...managed to press it back into shape. rattle free once again!!!

Will take photos and put them up this afternoon....
