^^^ That's what I was thinking as well actually. I mean the resonator is only $65! I dunno if I would pass inspection however in CA.

The gases would flow faster but it wouldn't change the content. Maybe some of those crazies in the IS or GS forums could answer that.

Just do the straight pipe. Its not going to be that loud. Its not really a straight pipe since your cats are still there, this will be like a regular "catback" system in sedans, etc.

Hi Guys,
I've been following this thread quite closely. The MagnaFlow is a great muffler. But do not put the straight-pipe only in. I did this on my set-up. It lasted for 30 minutes, incredibly noisy. Admittedly I have the dual set-up but I don't think it would matter much.
Below are photos of my set up. Yes the salt as done its best on the stainless steel system

Well designed! And with the added difficulty of dealing with AWD. Could you describe the process for us? Did your muff shop design it? What muffs did you use? Were the pipes off the shelf or custom made? Got any vids? Are we there yet??

Finally!!!!!!

Dunno how to embed correctly. so here is the link

Windows open at green light
http://youtu.be/l37wsHRnHhg

Closed windows going down hill on the ramp to the highway
http://youtu.be/02-nhFrSAco

Two three observations.
1- definitely some pep increase
2- sounds completely stock with the windows closed and besides my intake
noise.
3- only noticeable (if that) muffler noise is outside the car.

Oh and the shop did it for $80 I was not interested in looking any further so did it. And they have the magnaflow resonator! He said he $125 installed. I hear that's pricey though. Should be like $70 installed.

Might do it! Just scared about how loud it might be.

Had him set it a little lower for the Wald Kit. and easy fix if it's too low.
