Another brake switch just went south
Driving home today(2005 RX 330) and, all of a sudden, the ABS, VSC, Brake light and low tire warning light came on. My memory cells kicked in and "aha, I remember reading about this". Did a search here and came up with the brake switch on the pedal. Can you confirm that there are two switches on the pedal, one for the brake light and one for the ABS?
A couple of questions for those that have done this if you don't mind:
1. In one thread two responders gave two different Lexus part numbers; 84340-350030 and 84340-47020. Does anyone know the difference before I call the dealer or Sewell?
2. Parts Geek has two manufacturers Forecast with part W0133-1738205 for $38.94 and Beck Arnley part 18426-05016033 for $15.98.
3. Advance Auto has the Beck Arnles your $23.09.
Does anyone have experience with either of the two aftermarket switches and does anyone have photos of the switch on the pedal?
Btw, I shut off the car, restarted it and no lights. I fully expect them to come back on as soon as my wife starts driving!
Thank you in advance

Lexus Parts Now shows:

As normal, the Lexus part is much more expensive.
Was that not a recall item? Grumpa72, did you ever have that done or was it ever needed for your RX? My 2004 did have that done before. Now, I am wondering if that part will fail somewhere along the line as well.

It is not likely all brake switches will fail - recalls happen only because a specific number of cars had issues. I cranked my ancient body under the dash and that doesn't look like a fun job. Going to try and figure out how the front fascia comes off to access this from the front and not from underneath.

Follow up after talking with Lexus Parts
According to the Lexus parts man, the brake switch for Japanese made models is different that N. American made models. According to him my NA model, with a serial number starting with 2T2 needs part 84030-04030 and costs $58. Japanese made models take 84340-47020.
Again, this is for a 2005.
