Default 2006 RX330 aftermarket stereo question

Hello all! Thanks for all the posts that has helped me decide to replace my factory player. My factory player is now at the end of its life with error 4 being too random and annoying! I am not going to pay for a new one, so it is time to put one in.

I have a 2006 Lexus RX330 No Nav, No Mark Levinson. Just a basic vehicle.

What I am looking at:
Pioneer AVIC X920BT - 609.99 Amazon
Beat Sonic SLA-82A - 266.00 Ebay/BeatSonic
Pioneer ND-BC4 Universal Rear View Camera - 150 Ebay

I have yet to get a quote on Install but was wondering your opinions on how hard is it. I think I could run the rear camera so that I can save on some labor. Also maybe a general price range i should be looking for. Also, do i need anything else? Thanks!!

Default Lexus Radio

If its just the error 4 thats a problem. Have you considered getting the radio fixed?

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. I went with the Kenwood DNX6960, the Beatsonic faceplate/harness kit, Kenwood CMOS 200 backup camera, DVD/NAV bypass, Axxess universal steering wheel control and Kenwood iPod/iPhone cable.

Everything is here except the iPhone cable. I got a quote from Best Buy for 350 for the install but still nosing around for the best local installer.

I would do the install myself and save the bucks. It's not very hard and is really easy since the Beatsonic harness is plug and play. The only think I can see you trying to figure out is which wire to connect in the harness for individual speakers (I'm not sure if the Beatsonic harness is labeled?) but you can simply do a process of elimination and tap each speaker wire on the head unit harness to each speaker wire on the Beatsonic harness to determine which is front and rear. However, most harnesses are labeled so it should be fairly straight forward.

Here's how to remove the stereo trim panel and stereo. See video but you don't have to watch everything.

Default Beatsonic

Just remember the Beatsonic kit is plug and play. Unless you have Mark Levinson.

We installed the Beatsonic piece with a Pioneer head unit. Works well with the CDT equipment.

thanks everyone. I got a stereo install quote of 125, and 80 for the rear camera. I really am digging the pioneer parking assist but it is a whopping 300 bucks plus i am sure the install for that will not be plug and play (it will be harder since as you turn the wheel it tells you the projected path). Sure i can drive, but it just looks so cool in other lexus and audi vehicles.

anyways, i really appreciate the help on the forums, and look to help after I get it all done!

Default Stereo Upgrade

The Beatsonic kit doesnt work on Mark Levinson. So it looked good for about 4 hours. But nothing worked. So it came back out.

The Head Unit runs all of the systems on the Mark Levinson. So you have to have it connected. The Beatsonic Kit only works on the Pioneer stereos.

The Beat-Sonic kit does work on Mark Levinson models. You just have to make sure you pick the correct kit depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Also, the Beat-Sonic kit will work for all the headunits with speaker level outputs.

Here's further clarification on RX models and Beat-Sonic Kits:

For all 2004-2009 RX models without navigation. Regardless of if it has Mark Levinson or Lexus Premium Sound system.
-Correct kit is the SLA-82A: http://www.beatsonicusa.com/beat-sonic-sla-82a.html
- You will lose the factory steering wheel controls. Get the steering wheel interface from Axxess: ASWC Model: http://retailer.installationexcellen...0-CE05DC4202D6

For 2004-2006 RX Models with factory navigation. Regardless of if it has Mark Levinson or Lexus Premium Sound system.
-MVA-82R + SLA-82AAD: http://www.beatsonicusa.com/beat-son...sla-82aad.html
- If you are going to bypass the factory amplifier, you only need the MVA-82R: http://www.beatsonicusa.com/beat-sonic-mva-82r.html
- You will lose the factory steering wheel controls. Get the steering wheel interface from Axxess: ASWC Model: http://retailer.installationexcellen...0-CE05DC4202D6
- You will keep the turn by turn direction navigation voice prompt, but need to keep the factory amplifier in the car.
- You will lose the rear entertainment system
- you will lose factory bluetooth

For 2007-2009 RX models with Factory Navigation. Does not matter if you have Mark Levinson or Lexus Premium.
- RX-82: http://www.beatsonicusa.com/beat-sonic-rx-82.html
- Will also have optional video input harness on your factory screen to display whatever video input you feed into it. Factory screen will have an extra touch button "Picture" to display it.

Hopefully that helped.
