off brand tires - mirada crosstour
i just picked up my '09 cpo rx 350. they installed "mirada crosstour slx" tires on it. from the research i have done, it seams to be faintly related to yokohama tires. has anyone had experience with these? should i feel slighted that a lexus dealer installed (potentially) crappy tires on my car? are they crappy. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any experience with them but if your car is CPO'd, can't you just tell them you'd like to swap wheels with other RX's on the lot with Michellins or something else you like? Tell them your tires are noisy, etc etc. I almost bought a CPO RX and they told me I can swap wheels since I brought up that I didn't like the tires. I did not purchase the car because of other issues but that option was available.

I just purchased an 08 RX 350 and it came with those same tires. According to the Lexus service records for my car they were added to the car about a year ago. I have not had any issues with them. The car drives fine and noise is not an issue. Good luck with whatever you do!

thanks for the advice. i'll have a talk with them when i go back to pick up my registration.
i notice that they are plenty quiet, but i'm concerned about how they are in the wet and snow. i'd sure rather just have michellin's...

Actually, I've had those exact tires on my '06 RX since December 2009. They are excellent and I'd buy them again. The guy at the local Tire Store, who could easily have sold me more expensive tires that he had readily in stock, said these have been excellent on car-based SUVs like the RX. And he's been right. I wouldn't worry about them Oh and they seems to be wearing fine (not much!), too.

A misdemeanor, not a felony. Hit the dealer up for a free service and move on.

They have a 70,000 mile warranty. I just bought a 06 GX drove it 400 mile to home, with that same tire. WHAT A RIDE LEAVE THEM ON! They are very smooth with no noise at all. I drove from Raleigh N.C. to ATL. 80+ I'm happy with them. Price is around $130 to$150 range. "But it's all in what YOU want."

daryll,
i notice you're in PA. how are they in the winter? that and the rain are my biggest concern. in the dry, i noticed that they are very quiet. drove them a bit for the first time today in the rain; seemed fine. my last concern is the snow... any input would be appreciated.
thanks.
