Would anyone happen to know in which country the Toyota OEM rear brake pads are manufactured? Part number 04466-48060. Perhaps if someone has a set, could they possibly read the country of origin off of the label on the box? "Made in ..."

Thanks in advance. If no one knows, I can just as easily call or go to a Lexus store. I'm just wondering.

Warning ... getting a bit off topic ...

My heart goes out for Japan and its people ... with almost every natural thing against them ... Island in the ocean atop volcanoes, frequently visited by natural disasters and the only place intentionally targeted by nuclear bombs and now another nuclear mishap in the making.

Back on topic ... the material to make the pads (infact the whole cars) are imported. What "made in Japan" brings, is the human element in assembly and the refined process of quality through repeated assembly. We wont touch the matter of ingenuity (broader use of the term).

When it gets to brake pads .. 'made in Japan" should have no added value (imho). I would guess the pads are made in another island nation just like filters etc. Made to spec for Toyota/Lexus and thus bearing their stamp.
