Default Any difference between Mobil 1 and Lexus synthetic?

I just read the 3rd gen RX use synthetic from the factory which means Lexus service is now providing a "house brand" syn. What is it and how does it compare to commercial synthetics?

IIRC, it's made by Mobil to Toyota specs. So it's not just Mobil in a Toyota bottle. One difference is that Toyota specs high moly in the oil. Previously it was made by Itemitsu, but Toyota recently switched to Mobil as the provider.

Search here www.bobistheoilguy.com until your eyes bleed (there's that much information).

Yes, you can use 0w20, or 0w30. The Toyota house brand 0w20 is cheap (depending on where you are) and is an excellent oil.
