Question If I update my nav DVD, what would ...

(my apologies in advance for also posting this in the Lexus Electronics section)

If I update my Generation 4 navigation DVD to the latest version, will I lose the ability to select destinations while the vehicle is moving
?

Currently, I use the hidden screen method to enable the nav features while the vehicle is moving (via the Volume button, top-left corner, bottom-left corner, etc. procedure). I'm afraid that if I update the DVD to the latest maps, I may lose this capability on which I've come to rely.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

(my vehicle is a 2005 RX330, using the original DVD).

The reason I asked is because while my car was at the dealer for routine maintenance, I asked the service rep about this, she told me that since it is just updating the maps/data (not the program/application), this ability wouldn't be affected.

Yes you will lose the override function. I've done it. You can always put the old disc back and and get the override back - it's not permanent when you do the update.
