Default Rear brake lights randomly go on.

My '04 RX330 rear brake lights randomly go on while parking. Sometimes they would stay on all night until I noticed them being on in the morning. I would kick the brake pedal up from underneath or depressing the brake pedal to turn off the lights. I feel the brake pedal is sagging too low and trigger the brake lights to go on. Anyone knows how to fix this problem.

Brake switch getting stuck? I wonder it can be lubricated.

The pedal itself shouldn't have any sag in it. When was the last time you had the brake fluid flushed (or even bled)? I'd start there...

Switch too could be bad or just result of above. Try cleaning and lubricating if issue still exists after brake fluid flush. Get a can of compressed air and try to blow it off/dust. If it's sticky and needs lubricated, I suggest a dry lubricant like graphite as opposed to a wet one like WD-40.

I flushed my brake system 1 year ago when i was changing the brakes. I also think it was flushed when I had the brake recall done 2 weeks ago. The problem started before the brake recall. The problem seems to start with cold weather. The brake switch recall was done in 2005. I'll give it some lube and see if it'll take care of the problem. Thanks all for the advices.

BTW, where is the brake switch located in this car?

Brake switch might need to be replaced. Had the same problem with VW Phaeton, it was enough to replace the switch (paid about $120 to dealer for replacement part + work).
