Non-Navi to Navi
Hi,
i've searched the forum and google and found other conversions of lexus from non-navi to navi but not an RX300/350.
Has anyone done this successfully? I'm not really in for the navigation as my PapaGo for iphone does magnificent routing in Hong Kong but i'm more in it for the screen and ability to do DVD changer, etc.
All the after market installs go in the Audio Bracket area of my 2004 RX300 NOT the Navi/display screen area and therefore are very hard to see for passenger.....NO i will not be watching a movie and driving at the same time like all the other Hong Kong drivers.

your best bet would be to find a junked RX with navi. then just swap out the head unit, wiring, and satelite receiver. finding this stuff otherwise will be troublesome.
or find a newer better RX than yours with navi and junk yours. Plus this way it will work for sure, you will have no trouble with it, and you might even find one with warranty.

well-I know its plug and play for RX350, but I am not sure the RX330. What you need to is find a salvage supplier who might have a vehicle with all the components. The hardest part is the steering wheel control buttons since you will have to change the steering wheel and the collar sensor. You don't have to do is as the navi will work without it. Its pricey to get these components.

can't find a junked rx300/rx330 here in hong kong with nav as that is not an option provided here....
Kiwi: getting a new one would be an option if i had the money.......
vg: thanks dude, i think i have the proper steering wheel (the one with volume, track and Mode buttons) but not sure. I have seen pictures of RX330 with nav and same steering wheel...

i was factoring that in when i made the comment about getting a new one, if you take the money you will have to invest in making yours navi, and sell yours, you will probably have the funds to get into one with navi.

Kiwi- not really because you will not get what you paid for your RX. If you are patience enough and hunt the pieces down you can get all parts for less than $1,500. I pd $900 for all parts excluding the collar switch for the steering wheel which I bought new in the dealer.
