What's the safest position for a rear facing baby seat?
We are installing our Graco SnugRide this week in anticipation of our baby and I was reading the owners manual.
I noticed Lexus has the metal hooks under the rear seats that allow for the baby seat to be attached and strapped in. Just curious if it's safer to put the baby in one of the corner seats or is it ok to use the middle seat?
Also I have the harness strapped in with the provided strap and also the oem seat belt with the provided clip. However the base still seems kinda loose?
I'm sure many of you have familes and done this before, any pictures or comments on how to secure the travel sysetm base?
thanks

The middle is safest because it is the farthest from all sides. The assumption is that the tiedown is the same. We found the anchor useful in a front facing child-seat.
Use a thick bath towel underneath the child seat to protect the car seat.

^thanks for chiming in - makes sense
The middle seat seems to be a bit smaller than the left/ride seats hence my question.
We are using a Eddie Bauer Padded Seat Protector but it seems to cause the seat to slide a bit left to right since it's not that sticky to the cold leather.
What do you guys use for seat pads? Just a towel?

Technically the middle back is best as salim posted. But it depends on if the child seat backrest is built to handle the forces that applies on impact.
If not it will need support it will get from the seat infront or the dashboard.

we tried putting it on the passenger side, but by the time the wife got in the car she could barely recline. We ended up just putting it in the middle with the center belt to hold it in. When you tighten the belt down it helps to "put a knee in it" that way you can really get that sum' ***** nice and tight.
