CPO RX350 with less than 50K miles or doesn't matter?
Hello Everyone,
I don't have 45K to 50K to spend on a new car. I'm thinking of getting a used car. I'm currently driving a Maxima with 166,000 miles. She had been with me for 7 years. I got it when it was 109,000 miles, so I don't drive much. I only use my car on the weekends.
My replacement will be use as a weekend car also. I don't plan on driving it alot, but I intend to keep it for a long time.
Here is my delima.
Should I get a CPO under 50K or over 50K? I've found some car with less than 50K miles and some with 70K miles on it. With the CPO 3 year warranty, I won't even touch 100K when the warranty expire. Are there any other warranty out there that covers the car once the CPO expires?
Should I even bother with a CPO? Or just get a private car and buy a 8 year 100K warranty?
thanks for the help
Michael

With a CPO it is theirs if something goes wrong with it for the most part take it to them and they will fix it for you, a private car which could be just as good if not better, it is your car to fix and any money you saved when you got a private car over the CPO you are given back by looking to get a 8 year 100K warranty.

do not known that you have to see what each one covers and if you have to pay anything if you have to use it. But if you get a car that is still under the 48mon and 50k miles you could shop around from dealer to dealer to see who would sell it to you at the best price. Search on ClubLexus I saw were there is on Dealership that sell them for a good price

CPO is much better than extended warranty.

CPO and extended warranty have some similar features but as it was explained to me CPO ends at 100K total miles and 36 months following purchase. If you want coverage beyond either of those limits you need to consider extended warranty. The Lexus.com site gives some great information regarding both CPO and Lexus extended warranty programs. There is a detailed downloadable PDF brochure of CPO specifics. And the following link has details of the Lexus extended warranty programs, coverage and cost by model:

One of the sources of Lexus extended warranty products that has been mentioned as being very competitive on another CL forum is Midwest Toyota Superstore (Jerry Johnson). Here's a link to this provider:

Might be worth a call to check it out.
