Default How to make your RX accelerate quicker.

I always felt that the Rx 330 felt a little underpowered, and every time I tried to accelerate I felt I was going no were. But that finally has changed big time

I first want to give a big thank you to LexMex who answered countless emails from me on making my Rx quicker. The 3 biggest recommendations that he give me were: a free flow exhaust, an air intake, and High performance spark plugs.

The total cost for these 3 items including professional installation were less than $600. I purchased a flowmaster exhaust, a secret weapon R intake and Torque masters spark plugs.

Now with I put my foot on my gas pedal the car really accelerates quickly and comes to live

It has gone down 1-2 mph because I am gunning the car more often.

If you notice a difference on the butt dyno, then it's worth all of the mods you did. But, if there's no difference I wouldn't do it. But, I'm pretty sure you're feeling a difference in the butt dyno.

I'm not really sure. The only thing that I know for certain is as soon as I put my foot on the gas pedal the car finally accelerates effortlessly

Ok, just never thought of a RX as a fast off the line car.

believe it or not, high flow exhaust actually REDUCES your acceleration. Increases high end HP though, u'll feel it in freeway driving.

Well done. I too wanted to make my RX330 a little quicker on the acceleration and managed to achieve it with a little bit of training. I have trained the gearbox to the point now where it really just wants to shift and go rather than being lethargic all the time. The kickdown and response to the acceleration has really brought a smile to my face a few times.

I just got a muffler ( lowmaster). I wasn't going to be paying almost $1000 dollars for an exhaust system.

"almost $1000 dollars for an exhaust system" what were they going to do put headers on it or go straight dual?

I was wondering if you could give me some information about the Torque Master Plugs. May I ask if you looked at E3 plugs, if so what made you decide on Torque master?
I have done similar mods, Weapon R intake and custom dual exhaust, to my 330 and it's a world of difference, yet I still have the stock plugs.

Thanks in advance for your response,
Chris
