Buying from someone on an Internet Forum, what guarantees or steps would one take to keep from getting ripped off for a hundred bucks ?

use paypal. Ask the guy to ship with a required signature upon delivery. And a guy with 3000+ posts on a car forum isnt likely going to ruin his reputation anytime soon by trying to rip off someone for a set of $100 used mats.

Fairly safe. But check it out 1st. He can be banned if he screws somebody up. You better jump on it.
