about CHina made. CHina now makes a lot of top-quality stuff, such as all Apple products, majority of electronics (OEM for JP and US brands), and even luxury clothing and bags. I think the problem is always on the purchaser side, the greedy US brands always demand cheaper cost and don't care about customer and quality.

the Toyota one (w/o carbon) was kinda flimsy and cost more than freshbreeze.

Used my fingers to get the pins out....I probably spent more time at walmart finding the right filter than actually changing it!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to the owners havent done this...save yourself $$$ and feel good!

Great DIY...I plan on doing this soon. I stopped by the stealership the other day, and they wanted around $70.

Did anyone buy the cabin air filters for an RX 350 from sewell? If so, can you confirm if that one has charcoal or not? On sewell's website, it doesn't mention it, but if I do buy Denso from another website, it says that it has charcoal. Thanks

No, I just buy them locally or online as they are cheap enough. Have used the FRAM Fresh Breeze of late. They are available, I believe, from Walmart or your local auto parts store, or from Amazon.com.

Just double-check which one is right for your vehicle. The system on Amazon.com can be wrong some times.

Thanks for your help!

I just checked out the reviews for the Fram filter you listed. Some people say that the air flow was greatly reduced, which is probably due to application of baking soda. I might still stick with OEM Denso.

OEM Denso is the way to go.

Default Bang light on dashboard after installing filter

Gurus,

I installed FRAM cabin air filer on 2007 Lexus Rx350 and I noticed that after the installation, the yellow bang light inside open circle came on. Any idea what did I do wrong and how to fix it.

TIA

Are you referring to the following warning indicator?

That is a low tire pressure warning light. One has nothing to do with the other. Check all tire pressures, especially the spare tire. Reset TPMS as needed. Read the Owner's Manual for those instructions as needed.

It is recommended to clean it every 15K miles and replace it every 30K miles, also you can always take it out and check if it needed to be replaced earlier than that as everyone drive in different road condition.

If you're getting the indicator that RX330inFL mentioned. It's possible that you hit the button under the passenger side glove box regarding the TPMS when changing your cabin filter.

On the 350's there's a button under the glove box for main and 2nd. The main is for the vehicle to read the tpms of your current/factory set of tires where as the 2nd is for another set such as winter tires or an extra set of tires that you have registered with the car. So if the button is pressed in, then it's looking to read your second set of tires which it's not finding there fore the indicator.

If not, then it's as Rx330inFL mentioned, one of your tires are low (possible spare) or you have a bad tpms in one of your wheels.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your post. I am learning about my new-to-me 2006 RX330. Replacing the cabin air filter is one of the things to do today. On a side note, I was not able to view the images. The Image Shack message said they had been deleted(?) Here is a simplified sketch I found on the RA web site.

Just swapped mine out with the OEM charcoal. The previous owner had one you could see daylight through. Horrible. Took five minutes.
