New RX owner in the PNW
Hi everyone... I've just bought a 2008 RX 350 and thought I'd drop in a post to say hello. It's Savannah Metallic, 76,500 miles, fantastic condition, just one previous owner.
I'll start by saying thanks to everyone for the great info in this forum. I've already learned a ton and look forward to contributing as much as I can.
This RX will be my wife's daily driver and our road trip vehicle. It'll be taking us on many, many year-round adventures around the great Pacific Northwest visiting our extended family and friends.
We're coming off of using a 1999 Saab 9-5 wagon for this purpose and I'm very much looking forward to many years of worry-free driving in the RX. The Saab, while quick and functional and full of "character", was getting to be a constant frustration to me as I attempted to keep it running, not to mention the stress it caused while praying it wouldn't die with my wife and 7 y.o. son in it. At 182,000 miles, it's time to retire it. Wish me luck in finding a buyer.
Anyway, I just discovered the thread about the oil line failure issue. As soon as I got home I popped the hood and discovered our RX already has the metal lines. Luck! This RX came from Canada (Touring package FTW!), so I'm assuming the previous owner had it taken care of as part of the Lexus Canada recall. Carfax didn't show any service records for the vehicle, but it's obvious that the PO took care of it. It's in excellent condition.
Thanks again for the excellent forum.
