Cabin Air Filter Removal RX350 2007
I have tried without success to change my cabin air filter.
I have turned the tabs in the glove box to drop down the box, that didn't work.
I've tried pulling the tabs out with a pliers to dis-engage them. They will not budge. That isn't working either.
Can sombody tell me I am doing wrong ?

Keep trying. Are you following the directions on the owner's manual?

Thanks for the responses. I am following instructions from the owners manual, but they will not come out. I've even used a pliers and cannot budge them loose. Here is the crazy part....I just had the car in for an oil change. The technician brought out two filters to show me that they needed to be replaced. The engine filter & the cabin filter. "He said $ 120.00" when I ask how much. I have lots of time being retired so I said I'll take care of them.
I should have let him do it.
Should I spray some silicone on the tabs, Ya think ?:

I had the same problem. The solution is forget about the pins. Instead, pull the side panels of the glove box (those containing the pins) inward (toward each other) until the pins clear the hole slots. This will allow the glove box to fall away from the dash. The problems with pin removal don't represent quality design. Good luck.

Be sure to hold the glove box up a half inch or so to ensure that there is no downward pressure on the pins. Grasp pin with pliers, rotate until it lines up with the slot, and wiggle it while pulling it out. Gets easier each time.

So did you get yours out ddanhour?
