thanks all, the alenza got one of the best sellers award and also got pretty good survey ratings. I am at Discount tire. i was offer 854 installed. but i am probably going to opt for the lifetime warranty. I wonder if the70 off 4 bridgestones is working on this tire which would make it even better for me. Unfortunately they told me that the mich may cause problems since it is a lower rating because the turning will be slower to escape bricks on the road, ect.

NTB and tirerack told me it is no problem to have the T.

The continental-- not many have used but it does seem uniform that alot of people have problems with their sidewalls.


Bridgestone may be louder but what the hey, my car runs smooth and i can turn up my music. at least i don't have to worry until 65k more else someones warranty will kick in.

I calculated to be 50 dollars a tire for installation and lifetime warranty if i use tirerack prices+ shipping (dont think they tax texas) but also it would take 1-3 days for them to get here and id have to travel farther than discount tire next to me.

only thing now is the alignment and to figure out if it need it.


Once again I thank you for all of your help. I really wished they had made the Mich a speed rating good for my SUV but I'd rather not risk going below OEM. (Discount tire scared me alright!)...

Also it's raining and my Michs are going crazy rocking and low psi in my back right....

The Nitto NT850, they are pretty good for the price. We have Bridgestone and Nittos on my families RX's and the Nittos are quieter and have kept more tread. (both driven conservative)

honestly i dont think you'll need 5 star top rated super high performance tires for these cars.... you're not going to be hitting up track days anytime soon. Just pick something that's tried tested and cheap. Kumho's would be more than sufficient for a summertime/all season tire. Cheap too. In fact i've even taken my race car in kumho all seasons to lapping days at pacific raceway because my slicks werent in. Performed pretty decently for $56 a piece all seasons...

as for alignment, it's highly recommended you do so after you swap rims or tires.

Go with the Michelin.My 2007 RX-350 runs smooth with the Michelin energy tires.I had Bridgestone Alenza's earlier and they were noisy tires.I was told my vehicle should run with auto instead of suv tires.It has something to do with the type of frame on my Rx.

the RX uses many camry parts, (engine etc) according to lexus the RX is not an SUV but rather a wagon

I'm surprised they're not mentioned more often. I just replace my worn out michellin energy's and I really like them so far. It's been only a few days but they're quiet and smooth ride, yet feel quite sporty in the grip around turns.

From memory so don't shout me down if I remembered incorrectly. When I was looking, the Mich and B'stone had numbers very close to each other. The Mich was marginally quieter, as I recall, but it was only by about 1 percentage point. Or am I wrong? I just did the same thing for my BMW, fought over two tires that were less than 1% difference in noise and other issues. Imo, that little difference is not noticable by the average driver.

Kumho makes a fairly new tire, the Solus (sp?) that's a low resistance, gas mileage tire for our cars. We've had them for about 2 months and like them.

Should add it's the Solus KL21. We've had ours on about 3K miles, and got 25 mpg going to the beach this past week. They roll smooth and handle well in the rain as well. We'll see how they do in the snow this winter, but they're an all season tire.
