Default Need a new wheel for my '08 350 - $780??

The service department determined that my steering wheel starts vibrating when I hit 62 MPH because of a bent right front wheel. $780 to replace.

Other than using my body shop buddies to put a look out for some, I thought I'd check with you guys here for any tips on good places across the country to find one (preferrably used) so I can go easy on the pocket book.

It's the 18", 5-spoke aluminum alloy one.

Thanks!

Good luck finding one. IF you can't locate one you could always go aftermarket and get some nicer wheels for not too much more than 1 stocker.

On my brother's RL, we went to a wheel repair shop and they fixed it for around $95. If it isn't bent too bad, might be worth a shot. I realize you aren't in Denver, but ....

I agree- I would try a professional rim repair shop. you be surprised what can be fixed. If you are really picky in regards to it being 100% perfect. then at least having the rim repaired will give a longer period of time to search for a good used replacement.

Maybe use your spare wheel and then replace your spare with a cheaper wheel.

Indeed, and have the repaired rim as your spare.

Great suggestion.

Not sure pricing in the USA. But a local shop charges about 80$ a wheel for a simple alloy repair.

Mind you, what you have is a simple one-piece alloy. Once you start playing with 2-pc wheels, chrome, specific paint finish etc, it can get costly.

I'd personally go and get it refinished, on top of that a silver wheel is near impossible to screw up in terms of paint, etc.

In NJ it cost me 100 usd to straighten one bent 18" wheel. Car drives like new, I strongly recommend you try it out

I have two 18" wheels from my 2006 Rx400h, they my be the same as yours. They have very minor scuff marks from rubbing against a asphalt curb. I dressed them up and I was going to put them on eBay, but if you want them and you are in my area let me know.

Thanks,

Michael

The spare will be perfect. Just get the tires switched over.

I cracked an oem IS350 wheel and sent it off for repairs and it came back brand new. I think it cost $100-130 for the service.
