New Tire....
#5
My wife's 2010 Equinox came with these tires as OE in the 235/55/18 size, which is exactly the size I need. I should steal hers. But anyway, hard for me to make a direct comparison since my Michlein Energy MXV4 S8 were not new when I bought my RX400h, but the Latitude Tour is very quiet and has good performance in the rain. Winter just past was NOT the snowiest on record by far, so I can't give a comprehensive report on snow performance, but they were 'adequate' in the snow we had, considering they are an all season. I have dedicated rims/winter tires for the Lexus, so I'm biased when it comes to winter performance anyway, so take my 'adequate' rating with a grain of salt.
Recently recommended to me by a tire store were Yokohama Avid ENVigor, which are very new but have been getting good reviews (of the few I've seen). The big difference in this tire compared to the Latitude is the higher speed rating and the higher temperature rating vs the Latitude (H vs T, I believe, and A vs B)

Tires - My Thoughts
This is coincidental, since my '09 RX350 with 26000 miles on it will soon be ready for new tires. The car came with the 18" wheels and Goodyear Eagle
RSA 235-55-18 tires. They have worn excessively even with regular rotation and moderate California driving. They are not very quiet at highway speed.
I researched on TireRack and learned that the OEM Goodyears are rated very poorly. Even the OEM Michelins weren't as highly rated as the Michelin Latitude. I would urge you to research the tools at TireRack.com. I used them for my last car (5 series BMW) and was very satisfied with the program. But I think that the Michelin Latitude, highly rated by consumers, will likely be my next choice.
