Default Engine Cover Removal

Folks, I am having a real frustrating time trying to get the engine cover off of my 330 - to take it off of the 300 is simple, but there is an additional attachment in addition to the three screws on the front top side of the cover.

It is attached underneath, and unlike the 300, you cannot unscrew the "L" logo and get it off. What is up with this????

Thanks,
JBL

Never Mind...My impatience took over and I just gave the cover a good small tug, and the clips released and viola...cover off.

Well, no offense to the 3MZ-FE motor, but it`s not a very nice looking engine under that cover.

No, Grasshopper, the 3MZ-FE Engine is a beautiful sight! The reason I wanted to take it off was really to see how much grime and dirt has accumulated and happy to say that there really is none. Well, my '05 only has 30k miles on it so that would explain a lot of that. As a kid I was always one to take the cover off of my toys and see what lurks within...the only thing that has changed between then and now are the toys...

I am a great one for a clean engine compartment too, wash the whole area in the spring after all the salt spray is done splashing. Never thought to take off the cover to clean under it. As long as u say it was clean underneath I don't think I will take mine off

Keep in mind though, the most probable reason mine is so clean is because believe it or not, even though I live in Pittsburgh, my '05 has never seen snow or salt...just rain if anything. It's a weekend and vacation car with only 30k on it. As a result, it still looks showroom like...

If you use yours as an everyday ride, you more than likely will have some blemishes under the cover.

Bringing this thread back to life.. Just threw a code to replace the number 6 ignition coil on my 07 RX350. I understand how to change the coil but not how to get the cover off. Sounds like a simple pull and tug will do the job..

Good stuff that search feature!!
